Take Action On: Friday, December 6, 2013
This Friday, Congressman Tim Huelskamp and the Catholic School Life Rally 2013 - a group of catholic school children being shipped from up to three hours away from Wichita - will be holding a prayer vigil with at the South Wind Women's Center. That's right! The congressman who voted to kick 4 to 6 million Americans off of food stamps is planning on grandstanding amidst a backdrop of kids pulled from school to be used as political props.
The abortion debate is a church/state issue. Religious dogma should not decide healthcare decisions for women. And, living in the 4th congressional district, we certainly do not need Rep. Tim Huelskamp, who represents the 1st congressional district, coming to Wichita to stir up trouble at South Wind Women's Center by using students as political pawns of the Catholic Church.
We need as many people as possible to come out and tell Tim to go home and stop pushing his religious dogma into the healthcare debate on women. Come to the South Wind Women's Center at 9:00 AM this Friday, December 6th so you can tell Representative Huelskamp that women's bodies are not political punching bags.
South Wind will be providing hot chocolate and coffee as well as signs. Friday will be a busy day at the clinic, so everyone is encouraged to park on the west side of Bleckley. At 9 AM we will gather to discuss the plans for the morning. The clinic is located at 5107 E Kellogg Drive. Tim and his cohorts will be at the clinic until noon, so plan to stay with warm clothes on, or come for as long as you can. If you can join us on Friday, please email me to help us keep track who can join us for this important event. Stand up for church/state separation for women NOW!
