8th Annual Meeting

The Great Plains Chapter of AU is pleased to announce Micah Kubic, Executive Director of the Kansas ACLU, will be the keynote speaker for the chapter’s Eighth Annual Meeting. It is fitting that we have this dynamic constitutional expert addressing our organization, since this year's Annual Meeting is Saturday, September 17th, which is "Constitution Day" as decreed by Congress. Micah will review the important church-state separation principle our Founder’s wisely included in the Constitution. As a solid legal expert and author, Micah manages to clearly explain complex information, and always with a bit of humor!

Annual Meeting and Voices United - Sept. 5

This year, the Great Plains Chapter board is combining our Annual Meeting with Voices United. The event has been moved up to 6 p.m., September 5th, to accommodate all of our participants. AU members and friends of separation of church and state are encouraged to attend this important community event, and enjoy our Keynote Speaker Davis "Buzz" Merritt, as well as listen to some great music by Richard Crowson.

6th Annual Meeting (2014)

Michael Austin, Provost, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of English at Newman University, was the keynote speaker for our 6th Annual Meeting, held April 26, 2014. His informative and entertaining presentation was, "Mr. Jefferson's Holy Wall: The Religious Argument for Secularism in the Early Republic."

Annual Meeting Date Changed

Second Annual Meeting (2010)

On September 10th a crowd of over 130 people packed the auditorium at Exploration Place to hear film maker and author, Dr.Randy Olson discuss his new book, "Don't Be Such A Scientist" in how to communicate more effectively the important issues facing the scientific community such as global warming to evolution.
