Great Plains Chapter - Americans United For Separation of Church and State

Annual Meeting and Voices United - Sept. 5

Saturday, September 5, 2015

This year, the Great Plains Chapter board is combining our Annual Meeting with the National AU fundraiser called "Voices United." The event has been moved up to September 5th to accommodate all of our participants.

AU members and friends of separation of church and state are encouraged to attend this important community event, and enjoy our Keynote Speaker Davis "Buzz" Merritt, as well as listen to some great music by Richard Crowson. Mr. Crowson has also agreed to produce a piece of art to be auctioned off at the event.

There will be a brief business meeting to meet the requirements of our bylaws, including voting for the upcoming Board member slate, but the evening is dedicated to intelligent presentations and lively music, all for the purpose of supporting AU financially and reaching out to our community understand one important message: government, and public officials must uphold the separation of church and state, or we will have nothing but sectarian strife and instability.

What is Voices United? Several years ago, National AU recognized that discussing church/state separation was not always an easy conversation to have. Music brings us all together regardless of political ideology, race, or gender, and helps break down barriers for people to gather together and support important issues that otherwise would not be discussed. Thus, National AU began a nationwide event called "Voices United" to bring people together to listen to good music, to discuss the organization and church/state separation, as well as to raise money for AU.

This event is open to the public and free of charge. Donations appreciated.

Refreshments provided.

Time: 6:00PM-9:00PM
